REVIEW METHODOLOGY
Useful comparisons.
No borrowed certainty.
How we research equipment comparisons, buying guides and product recommendations.

Research is labeled as research
Our researched comparisons use manufacturer documentation, product specifications and relevant owner reports. We distinguish that research from hands-on testing. We only describe personal testing when it took place and can be explained.
Compare the things that change a decision
Pool compatibility, limitations, maintenance, support and ongoing costs matter alongside headline specifications. Exact models and relevant versions should be identified.
Explain the recommendation
A useful verdict tells a reader who an option suits, who should consider something else and what remains uncertain. We do not invent test scores or ratings.
Show the relationship
Some recommendations include Amazon affiliate links, with a disclosure near the recommendation. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We match links to the specific product discussed and explain relevant limitations. Images created for illustration are not product test photographs.
